Drugs worth £420k seized and nearly 400 nicked in cops' criminal gangs campaign

Guns, modern slavery and cyber-crime all part of two-year police operation

NEARLY 400 arrests have been made and drugs worth £420,000 seized as part of a police operation targeting criminal gangs.

Officers in Staffordshire have been pursuing those who commit 'high-harm crimes' such as county lines drug dealing, illegal firearms activity, modern slavery and cyber-crime.

Launched in 2023, Operation Target has resulted in offenders in the county being jailed for a combined total of 40 years.

Between July 2024 and July 2025 the force's major and organised crime proactive team has:

■Arrested 386 people;

Seized 10kg of class A drugs, worth about £250,000;
