Builder eyes roundabout work as part of plan for 500 homes

A PEDESTRIAN subway at a busy Stone road crossing could be filled in and replaced with traffic lights as part of plans by a developer proposing more than 500 homes on the town’s western edge.

Bloor Homes is preparing an application for up to 515 homes north of Eccleshall Road, west of the new Udall Grange housing development, near Walton.

The development is also set to include a new first school, and outdoor recreation space. Up to 40% of the homes would be affordable housing, available for social rent or in shared ownership. Specialist housing for older people is also being considered.
