DARREN Moore described Port Vale’s 2-0 win at Exeter as a “perfect away-day performance”.

Boss hails 'perfect day' as Vale sample away success

It all came together as Vale finally got their first three points of the League One season and it was thoroughly deserved with both goals in the first half.

Moore said: “I am obviously delighted for us all. It was another committed performance by the players.

“It was good to see us get the two all important goals but also keep a clean sheet with the off the ball work so it’s a perfect away day performance.

“I am just really pleased for everybody that finally we have got a score line that reflects the hard work that we have been doing.

“Obviously when you're putting in the work that you're doing, we are putting in some good work but we just felt that up until this point probably the work that we'd been putting in had not manifested in terms of the results and I think you saw that against Exeter.
