'Another defeat, but it does not feel like an awful start'

When Vale were on their way to promotion last season, I said it couldn't be a coincidence or the toss or a coin, that they kept winning tight games

By the same logic, it can’t be just bad luck that they keep losing them now.

I do think results will come if they keep to the levels they have reached in most of the opening month, but the caveat to that is they have to be better in the final third.

No one has hammered Vale since they have made the step up from League One but scoring only two goals in six games has left them too much to do.

I know they should have defended better for the goal but that was the first they have conceded for 397 minutes away from home. Thanks to Phil Sherwin for that stat.
