£2m plan to expand school

New facilities will add an extra 120 places

A £2 million plan to expand a high school by 120 extra places is set to be discussed.

Staffordshire County Council's cabinet is due to decide whether to use £2.278 million to expand Thomas Alleyne’s High School in Uttoxeter. If approved, the academy school will need to apply to the Department for Education (DfE) for final approval. The plans could see an extra 90 places for Year 9 to 11 students, and 30 Sixth Form places, accommodating the growing number of children from new housing developments in the area.
