Stocks Bounce Back After Monday's Massive Sell-Off

The local stock market made a strong recovery following Monday's massive sell-off that saw the benchmark index plunge to its lowest level in two and a half years.
The Philippine Stock Exchange index (PSEi) returned above the 6,000 level yesterday, snapping a three-day decline after surging by 3.15 percent or 183.49 points to end at 6,006.34.
The broader All Shares index also made a furious comeback, jumping by 2.46 percent or 86.03 points to settle at 3,582.80.
"Bargain hunting activities took place after the 5,800 levels held," Reyes Tacandong & Co. senior adviser Jonathan Ravelas said.
