Over 93,000 tons of silt and waste from Parañaque rivers have been removed amid efforts to reduce flooding at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) during the rainy season.

- By RUDY SANTOS

The New NAIA Infrastructure Corp. had sought the help of San Miguel Corp. (SMC) in a cleanup drive covering 1.9 kilometers of river channels, including the Parañaque and Don Galo rivers as well as their junctions with the San Dionisio and Villanueva creeks.

Storm drain lines along Domestic Road and the NAIA Terminal 4 were declogged. Ten manholes were constructed and 54 others were reopened.
