PCG recovers more sacks of shabu in Ilocos

The recovery of more sacks of shabu in Ilocos over the weekend suggests that the narcotics, dropped in the country's territorial waters, are drifting northward, the Philippine Coast Guard said yesterday.

The PCG said two fishermen from Sta. Cruz, Ilocos Sur discovered and turned over to authorities two sacks of shabu, which have the same type of packaging used as those found off Pangasinan last week.

In its post on Facebook, the PCG said the combined value of the recovered illegal drugs has grown to P4.3 billion in just three days.

Capt. Mark Larsen Mariano, Coast Guard District Northwestern Luzon commander, said maritime patrols have been intensified amid the continued recovery of more sacks of shabu in Philippine waters.
