Nestlé Philippines Inc. has voluntarily recalled limited batches of its NAN OPTIPRO and NANKID OPTIPRO infant formula products due to a potential contamination risk linked to an ingredient supplied by a third party.

In a statement, Nestlé Philippines said the recall is being undertaken as a "precautionary measure," stressing that no illnesses have been confirmed in connection with the affected products.

The company said it is coordinating closely with the Food and Drug Administration to facilitate the nationwide recall.

Nestlé Philippines explained that the move was taken "out of an abundance of caution and in line with its strict product quality and safety protocols."

"This precautionary approach reflects Nestlé Philippines' uncompromising commitment to product quality and food safety, as well as strength of our quality, traceability and monitoring systems, which enable us to act responsibly, even in the absence of confirmed health impacts," the company said Friday.
