Fires hit 3 cities amid Opong

Even as Severe Tropical Storm Opong battered Metro Manila with rains and winds yesterday, fires broke out in Caloocan, Manila and Pasig, the Bureau of Fire Protection reported.

The BFP said a blaze hit Barangay 175 in Bagumbong, Caloocan around 12:28 a.m. and was declared out less than five minutes later.

Another fire was reported in Barangay 70 at 5:49 a.m. and was placed under first alarm at 6:07 a.m. before being declared under control by 7:13 a.m.

In Manila, fire struck along P. Campa Street in Tondo at 4:54 a.m. The blaze reached first alarm but was declared under control at 5:11 a.m.
