FILIPINO HOUSEHOLD HEROES SHINE AT KASAMBAHAY, KASAMBUHAY AWARDS

The Aruga trophy captures the essence of our kasambahays' sacrifice. Palawan Group co-founder and vice chairman Angelita Castro, founder and chairman Bobby Castro with the 2024 Kasambahay, Kasambuhay Awardees Beth Papa, Randy Ballena Tapel, Ellen Rose Mabanta, Lyrie Jean Embang, Rowena Duque Brimon, Luzviminda Camitan, Baby Marecres Brazal, Lourdes Varquez, Mari Rose Batacao, and Wencesa Flores. The 2025 awardees: Adelaida Caquilagan Cabagua, Maria R. Rubia, Rosalinda Resco, Ma. Victoria F. Enero, Arceli Buling, Kent Lemuel Holoyohoy Pahimutong, Jean Gapol Macarayo, Judith Caras, Ma. Lyn Alipo-on, and Crystal Gale Pallugna

When a fire broke out in Taipo, Hong Kong, it was Filipina domestic helper Rhodora Alcaraz who ran toward danger, saving a child and exemplifying the courage, sacrifice, and compassion of Filipino household helpers worldwide. Her story reflects the very spirit celebrated by the Kasambahay, Kasambuhay Awards (KK Awards), led by JCI Senate Philippines in partnership with the Palawan Group of Companies, which honors the quiet heroes whose dedication and humanity uplift families and communities every day."What Rhodora did is just one example of the loyalty and dedication of Filipino household helpers — true and devoted members of the household," enthused Angelita M. Castro, co-founder and vice chairman of the Palawan Group, during the awarding ceremony held recently at Valley Verde Golf and Country Club in Pasig City.
