Discayas, alleged Chinese car smuggler probed

The Land Transportation Office (LTO) is investigating a Chinese national to determine his connection to a car dealer suspected of supplying luxury cars to contractor couple Curlee and Sarah Discaya.

At a press conference on Friday, LTO Chairman Markus Lacanilao said authorities are looking into a possible link between Cheng Cao and Frebel Enterprises.

“They all had one importer, Frebel, which was the same importer of the Discayas,” Lacanilao said, referring to the luxury vehicles seized during his first week as LTO chief, including a Ferrari 458, a Lamborghini Urus and a Huracán.

Cheng reportedly owns the ACH motor center in Makati, which was raided by the Bureau of Customs (BOC) in February 2025.
