Chinese drug syndicate eyed in floating shabu

The Chinese-run Golden Triangle syndicate was believed behind the dumping of 222.65 kilos of shabu that were found floating in the waters off Masinloc, Zambales late last month, according to the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA).
The illegal drugs, which were packed in 223 vacuum-sealed plastic bags and placed in 10 sacks, were found by fishermen from Mariveles, Bataan on May 29.
"Based on the packaging, the illegal substance originated from the Golden Triangle, particularly in Myanmar," Joseph Frederick Calulut, spokesman for the PDEA, said.
