Brownlee out of SEA Games

Justin Brownlee won't play for Gilas in the coming Bangkok SEA Games as Thai organizers recently announced a ban on the enlistment of naturalized players for 5x5 basketball. However, Ange Kouame will be allowed to play 3x3 as the event is open to naturalized players.

This development clears the way for Brownlee to suit up for Meralco when the Bolts host the Macau Black Bears at the Capital Arena in Ilagan, Isabela on Dec. 6. Meralco team manager Paolo Trillo is hopeful that Brownlee can join forces with Rondae Hollis-Jefferson to spark a late charge to the Round-of-Six EASL playoffs where the prize for the ultimate winner is a whopping $1.5 million.
