Blaster Is Finally Making Art For Himself

Of their hit Mundo, still an unreleased deep cut at the time. Students waited to meet them at the stage door. Blaster was the moody lead guitarist and everyone's favorite.

Blaster was also still a kid then, having just turned 18. In the following year, the four-piece band dissolved into a trio. They still released music, even earning viral fame with Come Inside of My Heart (which Blaster wrote). When the pandemic struck, the rest of the band decided to work on projects on their own. Blaster took his time. His debut album "My Kosmik Island Disk," an atmospheric, masterfully produced sonic trip to outer space, came out in 2022.

Save for live shows with his band The Celestial Klowns, Blaster has taken a two-year break from releasing new music. He returned late last year with Kamukha, a '90s visual kei-inspired track about seeing a lover's lookalike. It is an amalgamation of the singer's loves and all the lives he's lived. Here, he sat down with Young STAR to tell the story behind the song and how his music is growing up with him.

YOUNG STAR: How did you start writing Kamukha?
