For listeners, songs of their favorite singers serve as the soundtracks of their lives. But for singers, they may mark a turning point in their recording careers, as one may put it.

After doing covers, Kavi drops debut original song

New artist Kavi will mark a turning point in his singing career with the debut single, Ulan. After performing covers, he finally has his own, a heartfelt pop and mellow song about the feeling of longing for someone and the plight of being in a long-distance relationship. Kavi also co-writes songs and describes himself as sentimental.

With new artist Kavi of the Ant Savvy Artist Management, the single, Ulan, signals the fulfillment of a dream or the beginning of a new season to venture into recording.

It’s a welcome addition to the ever-thriving Original Pilipino Music (OPM), fueled by established names and newbies.

“It’s pop with a bit of a touch of rock,” said he of his debut song in a brief chat with The STAR. “We made (and composed) it for three months, while the production took two months. That's five months (of work), and it will be released on Nov. 14.”

Yes, finally, Kavi has a song of his own after doing covers or interpreting songs of local and international artists such as Rivermaya and Justin Bieber. And Ulan will definitely be a part of his repertoire every time Kavi has a gig at a bar or a club in the metro, like Quezon City.
