Aboitiz InfraCapital Economic Estates champions sustainable industrial development with its Sustainability Hub at LIMA Estate

s the infrastructure arm of the Aboitiz Group, Aboitiz InfraCapital is committed to enabling businesses and uplifting communities. One of its key business units, Aboitiz InfraCapital Economic Estates, continues to champion this purpose by driving innovative and responsible solutions—most recently through the launch of its Sustainability Hub at LIMA Estate in Batangas.

"The Sustainability Hub reflects our dedication to responsible waste management and circular economy principles. Through collaboration with our estate community and stakeholders, we aim to minimize environmental impact and contribute to the long-term sustainability of our region," said Clifford Academia, Vice President for Operations of Aboitiz InfraCapital Economic Estates.

SUSTAINABILITY PRACTICES AT LIMA ESTATE

LIMA Estate's Sustainability Hub is a testament to Aboitiz InfraCapital Economic Estates' commitment to responsible waste management and circular economy practices—from graywater recycling and composting to converting plastic waste into eco-products. The facility is designed to minimize environmental impact while maximizing resource recovery.

The Hub consolidates a range of environmental efforts that promote sustainable practices such as water conservation, ecological restoration, and solid waste management. It has a storage capacity of 3.3 m³. The Greywater Recycling Facility repurposes treated wastewater from LIMA Water Corporation's sewage treatment plant for non-potable uses such as plant irrigation. Complementing this is the Plant Nursery, which cultivates various species that enhance LIMA Estate's biodiversity and landscaping. As of its 2024 expansion, the nursery can accommodate around 15,000 propagates daily and produces 18 species of groundcovers, shrubs, and palm trees.
