Lucky Boy podcast teacher charged with sexual assault

The Observer

May 04, 2025

The teacher featured in The Observer's Tortoise Investigates podcast Lucky Boy has been charged with two counts of sexual assault on two boys under the age of 16 after two men accused her of sexually abusing them when they were pupils at the north London school where she taught.

- Chloe Hadjimatheou

The podcast focused on the story of Gareth – not his real name – a pupil at Christ’s College Finchley school in the late 1980s. It follows his quest for truth and accountability after what he says was a six-month sexual relationship with Sally Anne Bowen, then a 27-year-old chemistry teacher.
