Over the years, the UK has put in place some of the world's toughest anti-corruption and laundering laws, while simultaneously doing very little to enforce them. As a result, London has gained a reputation as a haven for dirty money.
Is last week's record freezing order on more than 300 UK properties worth at least £170m and owned by an ally of Bangladesh's ousted prime minister, Sheikh Hasina, a sign the tide is turning at last?
