J&K BJP spokesperson Dr. Abhijeet Singh Jasrotia on Friday asserted that Vande Mataram stands above religious divisions and represents the foundation of Indian patriotism, condemning attempts to give the national slogan a communal colour.
Addressing a press conference at the BJP headquarters in Trikuta Nagar, Dr. Jasrotia said portraying patriotism as being in conflict with religion reflects a “dangerous mindset” that weakens the nation.
He stressed that during the freedom struggle, Indians from all religions united under the slogan Vande Mataram to fight British imperialism.
