Muharram: Thousands join procession in Old City

SRINAGAR: Thousands of Shia mourners on Thursday took part in the traditional 7th Muharram procession in the Old City area of Srinagar. The procession moved through traditional routes with religious fervor and zeal.

As per the details collected by the news agency, the event witnessed participation from people across Srinagar, as mourners walked solemnly through areas including Zadibal and Rainawari, reciting elegies in remembrance of the martyrs of Karbala.

Aijaz Hussain, a mourner from Rainawari, Srinagar, said the participation in this procession is a symbol of undying love for Imam Hussain (AS) and the sacrifices of Karbala.
