TG MLC poll: BJP leads after 5 rounds

AFTER the end of the fifth round of counting of the votes cast for the Medak-Nizamabad-Adilabad-Karimnagar Graduates constituency, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Chinnamail Anji Reddy was leading his nearest rival V Narender Reddy of the Congress by a margin of 7,323 votes.
Anji Reddy had, by the fifth round, secured approximately 38,967 votes to Narender Reddy's 31,644.
BSP candidate Prasanna Harikrishna was in third place with 26,562 votes. Anji Reddy's lead has thrown all predictions out of the window — pollsters had given Narender Reddy a cakewalk, but his lead in the first few rounds has surprised everyone.
