SAD ignoring Akal Takht edict in full, triggers Punjab uproar

SGPC members demand action against the party leadership for not complying Takht order

THE troubles of former Punjab chief minister Sukhbir Singh Badal are far from over. Seven Shiromani Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee members want him found guilty again, this time for not publicly accepting the "sins" committed by his Shiromani Akali Dal regime.

Badal claimed to have followed the SGPC edict of last December 2 in toto, having resigned from the post of party president and performed kar sewa. These members are still dissatisfied. They wrote to Jathedar of Akal Takht Giani Raghbir Singh to once again declare the SAD leadership 'Tankhaiya' (guilty of religious misconduct).
