India Resumes Granting Visas to Afghan Nationals

INDIA has re-started issuing visas to citizens of Taliban-ruled Afghanistan in the student, business, medical, medical attendant, entry and UN diplomat categories, according to official notification.
This comes nearly five years after India suspended all visa services to Afghan nationals and closed its embassy and consulates following a regime change in that country. The government did not make any formal announcement in this regard but created a window on the country's visa portal for online applications, which reads 'Afghan Visa (For Afghanistan National) Apply Here'.
The window opens a page with links to six categories. A notice on the website says, "Afghan nationals may apply for an online visa".
