A police officer from the state cyber crime wing, deputed to the Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the Anna University rape, has sent in his resignation a week ago citing personal reasons.

While initial reports alleged the policeman had sent the resignation letter due to pressure from the senior officials, a senior officer said he had put in his papers due to personal reasons.
