VISITORS to Karimba panchayat in Palakkad district are now greeted with a delightful treat of live tea, payasam, or even ice cream, thanks to an innovative initiative called 'Sneha Madhuram 2K25'.
The programme, launched on Thursday, is the brainchild of panchayat president K M Haneefa, who has decided to use his honorarium to fund the project and spread a little extra warmth to those visiting the office.
Haneefa explained the inspiration behind the initiative: "Our office is located in an interior area, and people often have to wait anywhere from half an hour to one hour. With around 100 visitors daily, finding refreshments nearby can be difficult. That's how this idea brewed!"
