Ouseph's family had to pawn their gold ornaments to meet his treatment costs
EVEN after years of litigation and probe by various agencies, the Karuvannur Service Cooperative Bank continues to trouble customers who had deposited their hard-earned money in the bank. Many ailing elderly persons have died after waiting for the money deposited in the bank for their treatment expenses.
The latest case is that of Ouseph, 86, a resident of Porathissery. He had a deposit of Rs 14 lakh in Karuvannur Service Cooperative Bank.
He died on July 16 after a brief period of hospitalization due to age-related ailments. Despite having a large deposit in the bank, the family had to pawn their gold ornaments to meet the treatment costs of Ouseph.
