Cat breather for B Ashok, to continue as agri principal secy

The Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT), Ernakulam, on Friday directed the state government to permit B Ashok IAS to continue as Principal Secretary to the Government (Agriculture) and Agricultural Production Commissioner.

The Bench, comprising Justice K Haripal and Member V Rama Mathew, issued the interim order in response to a petition filed by Ashok challenging the government order appointing him as the head of the Local Self Government Reforms Commission.

The Bench will consider the case on January 23.

During the hearing, the government pleader submitted that Tinku Biswal, Revenue Secretary, has been given the additional charge of Principal Secretary to the Government (Agriculture) and Agricultural Production Commissioner.

However, the CAT Bench held that Ashok shall be permitted to continue in his current role.
