Women Leadership Focus of NCERT Books

IN keeping with the present times, women have been portrayed in leadership and demanding career roles in the new English textbooks for Class V and VIII students launched by the National Council for Educational Resource and Training (NCERT) this week.
Massive changes have been made to showcase the achievements of ancient Indian scholars and scientists in place of those of Western achievers in school textbooks, and to project India's tourist spots as the country's seven wonders, according to sources. An interesting innovation that is likely to keep students engaged with their books is the QR code imprinted in each chapter, which, when scanned, plays a video of the lesson.
NCERT textbooks for all subjects are being revised in line with the National Education Policy 2020 and the National Curriculum Framework for School Education 2023.
