"THE NDA government is moving ahead to provide fluoride-free protected drinking water to the western Prakasam region," said Deputy Chief Minister K Pawan Kalyan after laying the foundation stone for the ₹1,290 crore water project, also known as the water grid, taken up under the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM).
He laid the foundation stone for the project at Narasimhapuram in Markapuram town on Friday. State Ministers Anam Ramanarayana Reddy and Dola Sree Bala Veeranjaneya Swamy also attended the programme.
Speaking on the occasion, Pawan Kalyan said the government is committed to the welfare and development of the State under the able leadership of Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu.
Pawan Kalyan said he is well aware of the western Prakasam fluoride contamination issue, and drinking water scarcity, having resided in the region for a short period.
