KU to confer honorary doctorate on 3 distinguished personalities on its 34th annual convocation

In total, 18,885 graduates from various streams will be conferred degree certificates

THE 34th annual convocation of Kuvempu University will be held tomorrow (January 22) at 10.30 am on the premises of the university, Shankaraghatta, said Sharat Anantamurthy, Vice-chancellor.

Revealing this to media persons here on Monday, VC Sharat Anantamurthy said Chancellor and Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot will preside over the convocation and Minister for Higher Education Dr M C Sudhakar will be present. Retired VC Prof Ramaswamy of Hyderabad University will deliver convocation address, he said.

On the occasion, three distinguished personalities, senior politician and socialist leader Kagodu Thimmappa, noted quantum physicist Prof C S Unnikrishnan, of Defence Institute of Advanced Studies and Yoga teacher Nagaraj of Bhadravathi who was a recipient of national awards will be conferred with honorary doctorate from KU, said VC.
