DC Stresses Need to Review Pending SC/ST Atrocity Cases

Deputy Commissioner Gurudatta Hegde directed the district social welfare officer to identify cases of atrocities against Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes where chargesheets have not been filed within 60 days and present them in the upcoming review meeting.
Presiding over a district-level vigilance and awareness committee meeting on atrocity prevention at his office here on Friday, Hegde said the administration will also recommend compensation for victims in registered cases. He stressed the need for monthly discussions on atrocity cases and said several awareness campaigns have been rolled out to combat child marriages reported in the dis
