Pak troops rain heavy mortar, artillery shells on civilian areas along LoC
At least 12 people, including a woman and two minor girls, were killed, and over 60 others injured as Pakistani troops rained heavy mortar and artillery shells on civilian areas at the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir in retaliation to Operation Sindoor on Wednesday.
The border district of Poonch was the worst hit and witnessed one of the heaviest and intense artillery shelling from Pakistani troops since the 1971 Indo-Pak war. The Chief Medical Officer (CMO), Poonch, Dr Parvez Ahmed Khan, told this newspaper about the deaths of the people and the state of the injured. The injured were evacuated to different hospitals. Critically injured parents were shifted to the Jammu hospital for treatment.
