Pilgrim footfall to Gupteswar rises, so do accommodation challenges

THOUSANDS of devotees visiting the holy Gupteswar temple in Koraput district's Boipariguda block are deeply inconvenienced due to lack of accommodation facilities, despite the pilgrim site attracting about 20,000 visitors daily.
The temple is also a major tourist attraction known for its breathtaking surroundings. However, visitors are forced to travel 55 km from Jeypore town if they wish to stay overnight or explore the area.
