SPECIAL arrangements, including traffic plans, have been put in place for the Magh Poornima snan on Wednesday at Prayagraj Maha Kumbh.

- NAMITA BAJPAI @ Lucknow

The Magh Poornima bathing is the fourth big event after the amrit snans of Makarsankranti, Mauni Amavasya and Basant Panchami. The Magh Poornima snan will also mark the culmination of a month-long Kalpwas, which had begun with the inauguration of Maha Kumbh on Paush Poornima on January 13. It will mark the return of around 10 lakh Kalpwasis to their places after the bath on Wednesday.

With a massive crowd of devotees arriving in Prayagraj and the resultant long traffic jams on all approaching highways till Madhya Pradesh, the state authorities have introduced a special traffic plan to ensure smooth vehicular movement and safe transit of devotees.
