CPI state secretary R Mutharasan on Monday alleged that AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami is undertaking a state-wide tour not to 'save Tamil Nadu', but to protect himself from discontent brewing within AIADMK cadres and the BJP's political manoeuvres.
Speaking to media persons in Tiruchy before the party's state executive and district secretaries' meeting, Mutharasan said, "The slogan 'Rescue Tamil Nadu' (Tamilagam meetpom) was originally coined by the CPI in 2021, as AIADMK had mortgaged the state to the BJP. Now, Palaniswami should clarify from whom is he trying to save the state?"
