Early sprouting of samba paddy seeds: Expert team holds inspection

OFFICIALS from the seed quality control wing of the seed certification and organic certification department along with scientists from the Krishi Vigyan Kendra in Sirugamani conducted field inspection on Thursday following complaints from paddy farmers of Pullambadi block in Lalgudi that dealers sold them poor quality seeds.
Farmers from Pullambadi block and the surrounding villages like Vellanur, Kalvikudi and Sangenthi have cultivated samba paddy over 400 acres but the seeds which were procured from private dealers in October began sprouting within 20 to 25 days of transplantati
