Uppara community slams 'unscientific' report

THE differences among the backward classes have come to the fore against the Kantharaj Commission Socio-economic survey report, with the Uppara community disputing the figures.
When the Veerashaiva-Lingayats and Vokkligas objected to the report and called it unscientific, the Uppara community also asked the government to reject the report.
Uppara community leader and BJP OBC morcha National Executive member Noorondu Shetty claimed that the Uppara community population is around 20-25 lakh in the state, but according to the report, Uppara population is around 7.5 lakh, which is disturbing.
