MAHARAJA Nagar at Chikka Mandya, which was developed as a residential colony over two decades ago by Karnataka Housing Board (KHB) in honour of erstwhile ruler of Mysore Nalwadi Krishnaraja Wadiyar, the visionary behind Krishna Raja Sagar (KRS) in Srirangapatna taluk of Mandya district, is yet to get Cauvery water from the nearby dam.
This, when the government is implementing the Sixth Phase of the Cauvery Drinking Water Project to supply water to Bengaluru, which is 140 km away from the dam.
