Govt Schemes Ineffective If People Are Unaware Of Them: Nagalakshmi Choudhary

Says until mindsets change, no prog or movt aimed at addressing gender bias will succeed

KARNATAKA State Commission for Women chairperson Nagalakshmi Choudhary emphasised that government welfare schemes are ineffective if people are unaware of them.

Speaking to reporters after inspecting the Seth Mohandas Tulsidas Maternity Hospital on Monday, she said the hospital was providing quality care to mothers and newborns.

"I have visited several maternity hospitals across the state where even basic amenities like drinking water are unavailable for pregnant women. But this hospital has all the necessary facilities," she said.
