Ex-mayor blames party colleague for city's fall in Swachh rankings

FORMER mayor and Karnataka Exhibition Authority (KEA) chairman Ayub Khan blamed his own party colleague and Karnataka State Commissioner for Safai Karamcharis former chairperson Narayan for lack of cleanliness in Mysuru city.
The incident happened when Mysuru City Commissioner Shaikh Tanveer Asif was holding a meeting with the former mayors at the Old Council Hall of the Mysuru City Corporation to seek their suggestions on cleanliness in order to bring the city back to the top position in the Swachh Survekshan from its present 27th rank in the country in cleanliness.
Stating it as his personal opinion, Khan said due to Narayan's stubbornness, the government brought pourakarmikas under the direct payment system. Due to this, most of the pourakarmikas are not going to work.
