DEPUTY Commissioner Darshan H V said his immediate and top priority will be to tackle natural disasters in the district to prevent any loss of life or property. Interacting with reporters on Thursday, Darshan said he has already gathered information about the damages caused by natural disasters in the district.
"I have received updates from officials regarding road connectivity issues and damages that occurred during previous floods. We will take steps for emergency rescue measures after assessing potential hazards in populated forest areas. Under the leadership of Dakshina Kannada Zilla Panchayat CEO Dr Anandh K, vigilance is being maintained at the gram panchayat level with PDOs overseeing natural disasters. I have received information on this as well," the DC said.
