Heavy rains continued to disrupt normal life across Dakshina Kannada on Sunday, with the district witnessing landslides and damage to houses.

As many as eight houses were partially damaged in Mangaluru and Ullal, and 52 electric poles were uprooted following heavy rain.

A couple sustained injuries after a huge tree fell on their scooter at Kukkavu Koppada Gundi in Belthangady following heavy rain on Sunday. Gummanna and Vimala from Kadirudyavara were injured. They were shifted to a private hospital in Ujire.

Heavy rains continued on Sunday, disrupting normal life across Dakshina Kannada. The 4th cross at Shivanagara in Pandeshwar in Mangaluru was flooded, and the rainwater entered inside the houses. A compound wall of Father Muller's Hospital at Kankanady collapsed, disrupting vehicular movement. The compound wall came crashing down on an electric pole, disrupting electricity connection in the area. The Kadri Manjunatha Temple Committee arranged meals for the families affected by flooding.
