LOK Sabha Speaker Om Birla on Saturday announced the reconstitution of four key parliamentary committees for 202627, with several senior members retaining leadership roles.
Among the appointments, Congress MP KC Venugopal has been reappointed as chairperson of the influential Public Accounts Committee (PAC). The committees—Public Accounts, Estimates, Public Undertakings and the Committee on the Welfare of Scheduled Castes (SCs) and Scheduled Tribes (STs)—are reconstituted annually as per parliamentary rules. Their previous term ended on April 30, and the new term commenced on May 1, extending until April 30, 2027.
