He further questions Cong govt's shifting stance, from personal rivalry to communal
DAKSHINA Kannada MP Captain Brijesh Chowta has strongly criticised Karnataka Home Minister Dr. G. Parameshwara for visiting Mangaluru in connection with the Suhas Shetty murder case and making announcements without involving any of the local elected representatives.
"It is absolutely undemocratic and disrespectful that without consulting any of the people's representatives, Dr. G Parameshwara has apparently "taken stock" of this sensitive situation in coastal Karnataka," he said.
Chowta questioned Congress government's shifting stance-from initially calling Suhas Shetty's murder a case of personal or gang rivalry to now branding it as "communal."
"Wasn't it the Congress government that first rushed to call Suhas Shetty's murder a case of personal rivalry and gang wars? Now suddenly, they're calling it 'communal.' What changed? Are they admitting Suhas was killed for being Hindu? If they have the courage, let them say it openly."
"Because the painful truth is -Suhas, just like Praveen Nettar, Deepak Rao, and so many of our karyakartas before him, who were targeted and killed for being Hindu nationalist by fundamentalist forces," he added.
