Govt urged to write off farm loans

PERAVOOR MLA Sunny Joseph has urged the government to write off farmers' debts, emphasizing the financial struggles faced by farmers across the state.

Speaking at the inauguration of the 25th Agri-fest organised by the Irikkur Farmers' Association, he noted the widespread support for addressing agricultural challenges and stressed the need for collective action.

He stated that the government must recognise the plight of struggling farmers and take decisive steps, including debt relief, to ensure their survival. Irikkur MLA Sajeev Joseph presided over the meeting.

Kannur district panchayat president K K Ratnakumari inaugurated the second day's seminar sessions focusing on the importance of self-reliance in agriculture.
