Kozhikode Mayor Beena says problems will be resolved when the draft list is corrected
CPM members have responded to the allegations by UDF leaders of irregularities in tens of thousands of votes in the draft voter list for the local body elections in Kozhikode Corporation. Mayor Beena Philip responded by saying, "The problems will be resolved when the draft list is corrected and the new list is published."
The Indian Union Muslim League had alleged that 327 votes were added to the draft voter list in the building 49/49, where the CPM-led Beypore Service Cooperative Bank in Marad division operates. But the CPM's explanation is that this is a technical error by the Election Commission. The final voters' list would be published on August 30.
