₹25-cr fraud allegation against Malappuram dist panchayat member

A complaint has been filed against a member of the Malappuram district panchayat for allegedly committing Rs 25 crore fraud while he was serving in the Purchasing Committee.
Following the allegation, the Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) has suspended T P Harris, Makkaraparamba Division member, from the party.
The complaint received by the Malappuram SP states that Harris swindled money by misleading people into believing that solar plants, wheelchairs, physiotherapy equipment, dialysis units, laptops for schools, etc., were being purchased through an agency under his control as part of welfare activities.
They were promised huge profit once the bill gets approved, if they made advance payment.
