Samsung India asks TN government to intervene to provide ease of doing business following protest

SAMSUNG India has sought the intervention of the state government to ensure "ease of doing business" in Tamil Nadu and "protect the safety of workers" after a few protesting workers on Thursday morning entered the shop floor of the plant near Sriperumbudur and asked the contract workers "unlawfully" engaged in the production line to leave the spot.

On Thursday evening, the CITU-backed Samsung India Workers Union wound up its sit-in strike at the plant that had been going on since February 5 and retreated from the spot.
