THE Valapattanam police have successfully solved two high-profile cases within a week, showcasing teamwork and the effective use of scientific investigation methods.
In the first case, the police apprehended Lijeesh C P, who stole 267 sovereigns of gold and ₹1.26 crore from a rice trader's house. The robbery, reported on November 25, was resolved by December 2.
The following day, on December 3, the police were confronted with a murder case near Azheekkal harbour, where a 45-year-old Odisha native, Ramesh Das, was found dead. Within five days, the police arrested the suspect, Magu Malik, 45, from Mangaluru.
